Meet your Host, Maddy 💛
-
Hey! I’m Maddy a 26-year-old explorer who’s traveled to over 46 countries and spent the past few years traveling, working on boats, chasing sunsets, and collecting stories from all over the world. I’m an easygoing, positive person who loves meeting new people and turning strangers into friends. 🌿
Travel, for me, is about connection, laughter, and going with the flow. Things don’t always go perfectly and that’s what makes it fun! If plans change or something unexpected happens, we’ll roll with it, laugh it off, and turn it into one of those stories we’ll still be talking about years later.🌺
I believe adventures should be full of good energy, shared moments, and a little bit of spontaneity. Whether we’re exploring local markets, hiking through nature, or just enjoying a glass of wine at sunset, I’ll make sure the trip is relaxed, fun, and unforgettable. I can’t wait to share the magic of Chile with you!✈️
Warning: may cause extreme wanderlust and sand addiction ✈️
👀 So what are we doing?
Basically… everything.
We’re floating in the Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache like human pool noodles, chasing sunsets in Valle de la Luna (because yes, the desert has its own Moon 🌕), and waking up at disrespectfully early hours to see geysers exploding at sunrise.
🌈 Color therapy, Atacama edition.
We’ll wander the Rainbow Valley, where the mountains are literally tie-dye — and no, filters are not needed.
Then dip into the Puritama hot springs to recover from all our life decisions (and the sand in questionable places).
🏜️ For the chaotic souls:
Sandboarding at sunset.
Will you look majestic? Probably not. Will you have fun? Absolutely.
And at night, we’ll lie under a sky so full of stars it’s suspicious, drinking tea and pretending we can spot Orion’s Belt.
💫 The vibe:
Adventure. Laughter. A little delusion.
By the end, you’ll be sunburnt, sleep-deprived, and 100% certain this desert is the coolest place on Earth.
(And yes — there’s so much more waiting in the itinerary 👀).
🌵 For the dreamers, explorers & mildly chaotic souls — welcome to your Salt & Stars era.
What’s Included in this Dream Week
-
Because Netflix & chill isn’t why you came to the desert
🧡 Welcome Dinner – Our first night together in San Pedro! Food, laughter, and “who’s most likely to get sunburnt first” bonding time.
🌈 Rainbow Valley & Hierbas Buenas – Wander through multicolored mountains that look like Mother Nature went wild with her paint palette. Plus, check out ancient petroglyphs carved into the rocks — it’s history with extra flair.
🌕 Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) Sunset Tour – Feel like you’ve landed on Mars while watching the desert turn gold and pink. Easily one of the most magical sunsets on Earth.
🔥 El Tatio Geysers & Machuca Village – 4,000m above sea level, geysers explode dramatically (kind of like us before coffee). Afterwards, warm up in the tiny llama-filled village of Machuca.
💦 Laguna Cejar, Ojos del Salar & Laguna Tebinquinche – Float in salty lagoons that make you feel like a potato chip on water. Then enjoy an epic desert sunset surrounded by mirror-like lakes.
🦩 Altiplanic Lagoons (Miscanti & Miñiques) + Piedras Rojas & Socaire Village – Unreal turquoise lagoons, red rock viewpoints, and a charming high-altitude village where time stands still. Flamingos may make a guest appearance 🦩✨
🌊 Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache – Secret desert lagoons so blue it’s almost illegal. Float, laugh, and try not to get too cocky with your floating selfies.
🌌 Stargazing Experience – The clearest skies in the world. Hot tea, telescopes, and pure cosmic delulu energy. Spot constellations and question your entire existence (in a good way).
🔥 Puritama Hot Springs – Natural pools tucked into a canyon — the ultimate “we survived the desert” relaxation moment.
🏄♀️ Sandboarding at Sunset – Slide down the dunes like a chaotic penguin. It’s not about grace; it’s about vibes.
🍽️ Also Included
✨ All entry fees (yes, all — no sneaky add-ons like most tours!)
🍛 Welcome dinner on night one
🌞 Endless adventure, questionable tan lines, and new delulu besties -
Because who needs five stars when you’ve got five new besties ✨
We’re staying at Casa Voyage Hostel (or similar, depending on availability) — a cozy, social base right in San Pedro de Atacama.
Expect comfy dorms, desert-boho vibes, and spontaneous hangouts with travelers from all over the world. It’s the kind of place where:
🧃 Someone’s always offering you mate tea.
🎸 Someone else is strumming a guitar at sunset.
💬 And somehow everyone ends up sharing life stories at 2 a.m. under the stars.Staying together keeps it budget-friendly, community-based, and full of that true backpacker energy we love 💕

🧂 Atacama = Out of This World (Literally)
This isn’t your average vacation — this is the Atacama Desert, aka the most Mars-looking place on Earth. Between the salt flats, rainbow-colored mountains, geysers that hiss at sunrise, and lagoons so blue they look fake — it’s giving “did I just step into a National Geographic documentary?” energy.🌈 The Colors You’ll Never Forget
Think copper canyons, turquoise lagoons, pink flamingos, orange sunsets, and skies so clear you’ll question reality. The desert literally glows. Every photo looks edited — except it’s not.🌌 Stars You’ll Never Forget
You’ll stare at a night sky so clear it feels illegal. With zero light pollution, this is one of the best stargazing spots on the planet. Expect Milky Way magic, shooting stars, and deep existential thoughts like “am I even real?”💦 Lagoons, Geysers & Hot Springs — Oh My!
Swim in hidden salt lagoons that make you float effortlessly, watch geysers explode at dawn, and melt your worries away in natural hot springs surrounded by desert canyons. (Basically spa day, but make it chaotic nature edition.)🎨 Adventure, Freedom & Delulu Energy
No strict guides or fancy tour buses here — just backpacker-style freedom. You decide when to chill, explore, or run barefoot through the sand dunes at sunset (we won’t judge).👯♀️ A Travel Family, Not a Tour Group
By the end of the week, you’ll have a new family — the kind that laughs through sandstorms, shares snacks at sunrise, and maybe cries a little when it’s time to leave.💫 Flexible, Real, Unfiltered
Every day is an adventure — but with enough space to breathe, rest, and watch flamingos at golden hour. This isn’t a package tour; it’s a chaotic, heart-expanding, memory-making experience.🌞 The Ultimate Balance of Chaos & Peace
Wake up early chasing geysers one day, and float under the desert sun the next. It’s wild, beautiful, and deeply grounding — the kind of adventure your soul didn’t know it needed.

Think: laid-back backpacker energy meets chaotic travel family. Small group, good vibes, shared hostels, spontaneous adventures. You’ll bond fast, laugh a lot, and probably cry at the lagoons because it’s just that pretty.
-
Hot during the day ☀️, cold at night. Like, “I-can-see-my-breath” cold. You’ll be wearing shorts at noon and a puffer jacket at midnight — desert life is chaotic like that. Bring layers and you’ll be golden.
