Meet Ines, your Host 💛

  • Heyy, I’m Inês 👋 I’m 25, I’ve solo-traveled to 36+ countries and I’m the slightly chaotic soul behind Delulu Backpackers.

I’m all about slow travel, spontaneous adventures, and connecting with strangers who turn into travel besties 💛
I love real conversations, laughing at the little things, and exploring the side of a country that isn’t in the guidebooks.

I don’t take life too seriously 😌 If we get lost? We vibe. If plans change? We roll with it.
I’m the kind of person who makes friends in tuk-tuk lines, joins random dance circles, and convinces everyone to jump into the ocean at midnight 🌊

If you're into freedom, fun, connection, and messy moments that turn into the best memories — you’re gonna love traveling with me.

Just don’t expect everything to go perfectly… this isn’t a tour.
It’s a beautiful, slightly chaotic little adventure we’ll create together 🦋

✨Spoiler: You won’t want to come back.✨

Eight days. One river. A lifetime of “did that just happen?” moments.

We begin in Luang Prabang 🏯, a place where saffron-robed monks wander past golden temples and the night market tempts you with foods you’ve never tried but instantly love 🍜. Days here are for chasing the turquoise tiers of Kuang Si Falls 💦, biking along quiet streets 🚲, and watching the sun melt into the Mekong from the riverbank.

Then we venture north, where things get wilder . In Nong Khiaw, we hike to a mountaintop 🥾, pitch our tents under the stars , and wake up to a view so unreal it feels like someone added it in post-production 📸. The next days are slow, beautiful, and deeply local — kayaking down the Mekong 🛶, exploring war-era caves , and cycling through rice fields 🌾.

We end in Muang Ngoy , a riverside village you can only reach by boat. There are no cars here 🚶‍♀️, just footpaths, hammocks, waterfalls 💧, and the kind of stillness you didn’t know you needed. It’s raw, untouched, and unbelievably welcoming — the kind of place you’ll be glad you saw before the rest of the world caught on 🌏.

  • Hand-picked stays with heart, hammocks, and the best vibes in Laos.

Every hostel and guesthouse on this trip is personally chosen by me — not just for comfort, but for the atmosphere, location, and the people who run them. We’ll usually share rooms as a group (sometimes even a private room just for us, depending on our group size)

    • 🏊 Luang Prabang — The Jam Hostel
A beautiful, social hostel with a pool — perfect for cooling off after a day exploring waterfalls and markets. This is the kind of place where you can relax, meet other travellers, and join in on fun hostel activities, all with our own little crew.

    • 🌿 Nong Khiaw — Eco Farm Stay & Hostel
A locally-run guesthouse that recently opened its hostel space. Here, you can spend lazy hours in hammocks, rent kayaks directly from the property, or join the hostel group for a hike into the surrounding mountains. Peaceful, friendly, and surrounded by stunning scenery.

    • 🛶 Muang Ngoy — Delilah Muang Ngoy Restaurant & Homestay
A cosy, family-run spot right in the heart of this riverside village. With an on-site restaurant, friendly hosts, and a chilled, slow-living vibe, it’s the perfect base for exploring the waterfalls, caves, and footpaths nearby.

  • All transport between villages is included in your trip — whether we’re travelling by scenic riverside van or cruising along the Mekong by boat, it’s all part of the adventure. You’ll also have transport for included activities, like cycling to nearby villages or hopping in a local boat for a day trip.

    🚗 Included:

    • All van transfers between destinations

    • Boat rides between riverside towns and villages

    • Cycling or other local transport for included activities

    ✈️ Not included:

    • Airport transfer to our hostel in Luang Prabang — available as an add-on at checkout if you’d like us to arrange it for you.

🚫 What’s Not Included

To keep things flexible, affordable, and full of freedom, here’s what you’ll need to cover yourself:

  • ✈️ Flights to/from Luang Prabang

  • 📄 Travel insurance (required – safety first, soft girl second!)

  • 🍽️ Some meals & snacks (because part of the adventure is chasing coconut pancakes & local spots)

  • 👜 Personal expenses (souvenirs, sunscreen, that beachy dress you need)

  • 🚐 Airport transfer (ill help you organazing)

Don’t worry — I’ve got your back with all the tips on budgeting, booking flights, and packing like a dreamy, salty-skin explorer. 🐚

  • 🚫 No tour guides. No rigid plans. Just a group of adventurous travelers seeing where the road (or river) takes us.
🐌 Slow travel vibes — we stay long enough to actually feel a place, not just tick it off a list.
🌊 Raw & untouched — Laos is still unsaturated by mass tourism, so you get to explore a real, authentic country before it changes.
🗺 Freedom to explore — we go by mood, weather, and group energy, not by a laminated timetable.
🔥 Connection over checklists — more laughing around campfires, less rushing from one “must-see” to the next.
🚤 Mixed adventures — tuk-tuks, boats, hiking, hammocks, waterfalls, and sunsets… without feeling rushed.
🏡 Hand-picked stays — locally run guesthouses and unique hostels chosen for their vibe, not just their location.

    What makes it different:
Most group trips pack every day with activities and guides — ours doesn’t. This is travel the way it’s meant to be: slow, free, flexible, and full of choice. We focus on the vibe and the connections, letting moments happen naturally. By the end, you won’t just have seen Laos — you’ll have lived it. 🌏✨

💫 Itinerary: Lost in the Mekong

  • “The group chat is about to get lit.”

    Morning

    • ✈️ Arrival in Luang Prabang — Welcome to Laos! Drop your bags at The Jam Hostel, our social base with a pool, tropical vibes, and maybe a few too many hammocks. Take a deep breath — the air smells like coffee, grilled street food, and new adventures.

    Afternoon

    • 🚶‍♀️ First Wanders — We’ll take it slow and explore Luang Prabang’s charming streets. Golden temple roofs peek out between palm trees, monks pass by in saffron robes, and little cafés tempt us with their pastries. You’ll probably say “oh my god this is so cute” at least 17 times.

    Evening

    • 🌄 Phousi Hill Sunset Hike — Climb to the top for panoramic views over the Mekong and the town glowing in the golden hour. It’s the kind of view that makes you forget your phone… until you remember you need that perfect first-day Insta post.

    • 🍽️ Welcome Dinner — We eat, we laugh, we swap “how I got here” stories. Warning: I will probably overshare.

    • 🎳 Bowling Night (Optional) — Laos bowling alleys stay open until 1 am. Why? I have no idea. But it’s our kind of chaos.

    Included Today:
🏨 The Jam Hostel (shared room)
    🌄 Phousi Hill sunset entry
    🍽️ Welcome Dinner
🎳 Bowling night (optional but included)

  • “This is your sign to swim before noon.”

    Morning

    • Slow Start — Breakfast at a local café. Think strong Lao coffee, warm baguettes (thanks, French influence), and people-watching as the city wakes up.

    • 💦 Kuang Si Waterfall — We head to the jungle where tier after tier of turquoise pools wait for us. You can swim, wander shady bamboo trails, or just float and wonder why you didn’t move here sooner.

    Afternoon

    • 💍 Jewellery Making Class — Back in town, we join a local artisan for a hands-on workshop. You’ll make your own ring, necklace, or bracelet (up to two pieces within budget). Bonus: you now have a shiny souvenir that screams “I’m a world traveller and I made this.”

    Evening

    • 🍽️ Dinner in Town — Street food with the group or a cosy riverside spot — your call.

    • 🎲 Night Fun — This could be drinks, board games, or the kind of karaoke we’ll all regret but love.

    Morning

    • Breakfast in Luang Prabang — One last coffee and maybe a cheeky croissant before we swap UNESCO vibes for remote mountain magic.

    • 🚌 Van to Nong Khiaw — 3–4 hours through lush jungle and tiny roadside villages. Warning: Laos roads are… an experience. Think “rollercoaster but without the seatbelts.” The views? Totally worth it.

    Afternoon

    • 🏡 Check-in at Eco Farm Stay & Hostel — Locally run, hammocks with Mekong views, and the kind of chill where time stops existing.

    • 🕳️ Nong Khiaw Caves — If time’s on our side, we’ll head to the famous Pha Tok or Pha Kuang caves. Once used as hideouts during the war, now they’re just dripping with history (and stalactites). Bring your inner Indiana Jones.

    Evening

    • 🌄 Nong Khiaw Viewpoint Hike — Short but steep — enough to make you feel like you’ve “earned” the sunset. The view? Mountains folding into the river like some desktop screensaver you thought wasn’t real.

    • 🍺 Beer by the Mekong — End the day with a cold Beerlao, maybe a herbal sauna, and the soft hum of village life.

    Included Today:
🚐 Van from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw
🏡 Eco Farm Stay & Hostel (shared room)
    🕳️ Cave entry fee
🌄 Nong Khiaw sunset viewpoint entry

    Morning

    • 🍳 Breakfast in Town — Coffee that could wake the dead, and a plate of something hearty because today is the day.

    • 🥾 The Great Ascent — We start our overnight hike — the one you’ll tell your grandkids about (minus the sweaty parts). It’s a steady climb through lush green slopes, bamboo forests, and air so fresh it feels fake. Expect plenty of laugh breaks, snack breaks, and “are we there yet?” moments.

    Afternoon

    • 🏕️ Camp Above the Clouds — We reach the summit and it hits you — oh, this was worth every step. The view stretches across valleys, rivers, and endless ridges. We set up camp, gather firewood, and get cosy.

    Evening

    • 🔥 Dinner & Stories by the Fire — Cook with locals and fellow hikers, share ridiculous travel tales, and maybe learn a new Lao drinking game.

    Afternoon

    • 💆 Traditional Lao Massage — One glorious hour of muscle-melting bliss.

    Included Today:
    🌅 Sunrise at viewpoint
    🥾 Guided hike down

    • 🏡 Settle Into Our Guesthouse — Cozy, simple, and steps from the water.

    • 🪨 Cave & Viewpoint Adventure — Wander through the local cave, then follow the trail up to a stunning overlook where the whole valley spreads out beneath you. Easy hike, max reward.

    • Village Stroll — Grab a Lao coffee, chat with locals, and watch daily life unfold.

    Evening

    • 🍲 Dinner in the Village — Family-style dishes, maybe a cheeky Beerlao.

    • 🎲 Game Night or River Chill — Cards, chats, or just lying under the stars.

    Included Today:
    🚤 Local boat ride
🪨 Cave entry & viewpoint fee
🏡 Guesthouse stay in Muang Ngoi

  • “Because who needs Google Maps when you have curiosity?”

    Morning

    • 🍳 Breakfast With a View — Coffee in one hand, banana pancake in the other.

    • 🚶 Village Hopping — Wander from Muang Ngoi to nearby Ba Nai and Houay Bo villages. It’s all rice fields, water buffalo, and tiny wooden bridges that feel like they might collapse (but don’t).

    Afternoon

    • 🐃 Countryside Magic — Stop whenever you feel like it — for photos, snacks, or to say hi to local kids waving from their porches.

    • 🛶 Optional River Chill — If your legs are tired from “extreme walking,” swap the hiking boots for a kayak and drift lazily down the Mekong.

    Evening

    • 💆 Massage Round Two? — Because if you can’t spoil yourself in Laos, when can you?

    • 🍲 Dinner & Stories — We eat, we laugh, we plot how to stay here forever.

    Included Today:

    Guesthouse
🛶 Kayak rental OR massage (your choice)
    🍲 Dinner

  • “The end… or is it?”

    Morning

    • 🍳 Farewell Breakfast — One last river view before the group scatters like well-traveled confetti.

    • 🚤 Boat or Stay — Head back toward Nong Khiaw via boat and van (if you’re leaving) OR throw your return ticket in the bin and keep soaking up Muang Ngoi’s slow magic with me.

Afternoon & Evening (if you stay)

    • 🛖 Slow Life Mode — Hammock naps, village strolls, maybe find “that one café” and claim it as yours.

    • 🌅 Sunset Send-Off — Beerlao in hand, feet in the river, no itinerary, no worries.

    Included Today:
    🍳 Breakfast

    Your Choice:
I can arrange your return transport as an add-on at checkout, or you can stay longer with me and head back later — maybe even join another camp if the vibes are calling.

  • Most travelers will need a visa to enter Laos. The easiest option is the Visa on Arrival at Luang Prabang airport — just bring your passport (valid for at least 6 months), one passport photo, and around $35 USD in cash. You can also apply for an e-Visa online before you travel if you prefer to skip the arrival queues. Both options let you stay in Laos for up to 30 days.
